tushanshu: defense and medical teams

Shepard is putting together/running volunteer defense and medical teams. Primarily what she envisions these teams doing is getting emergency preparedness plans into place for the entire turtle on both a defensive and medical front, and also potentially liasing with official kedan authorities on defense and medical issues related to the foreign population at large.

The medical team will ideally help collect/disseminate relevant medical information on inhabitants of the turtles to all those who operate clinics locally, as well as help organize and triage patients as necessary in times of emergency.

The defense team will hopefully help coordinate baseline self-defense lessons for all who may want it - working with those who are or have been offering such lessons to make sure base lines are established that everyone is capable of doing (regardless of powers, age, size, skill level, species, etc), as well as disseminate information about what to do in case of emergencies like another zombie attack.

Each team will meet once a month (more if people think it's necessary) - to plan, organize committees and whatnot. These can easily be handwaved, though I'm happy to do meeting logs for CR purposes, and if folks have ideas for plans that could be implemented or ways to ICly get some of the information she's seeking, feel free to contact me!

If your character would be interested in joining one (or both!) of these teams, please comment here with your character's name and which team they would want to join - also, if you want, feel free to leave a blurb with any ideas or contributions they may have to some of the above ideas! And feel free to use this to handwave meetings and get CR started with your characters. If you're not sure how your character would find out about these teams, never fear! Shepard has been publicly advertising them, both on the network and via things like... fliers. So it would be super easy to hear about them via word of mouth, or you can always shoot me a PM or comment to Shepard's IC inbox if you need other ideas!

I'd like to sign up Holiday on the medical team. :V

Unfortunately, I don't have much in the way of ideas at the moment, but I know that the Doc is planning on asking the Emperor about scientifically studying the turtle and that will include any potential bacteria or the like that is indigenous to the area. Doubt she'll find anything since this is a RP game and I don't think the mods would appreciate some weird Ebola outbreak, but she will be looking into the general medical history of the population.

Among a lot of other science-y things. If she gets permission at all. Otherwise, hi, I'm just here. :V

He...won't really be volunteering much in the way of contributions, but he does have his crazy anime grappling hook jetpack gear for emergency use? Also there's the whole Titan thing but he's not going to bring that up.

Ah yes good! Yes yes, Shepard is definitely glad to have folks interested in studying the turtle - since the turtle's health is obviously so closely tied to the overall health of the population, she definitely considers that a medical necessity!

I figure at some point maybe they can organize some groups of volunteer evacuators or something for each sector i.e. people with combat experience willing to help get civilians to safe houses in case of emergencies, so that might be something!

So once I get off my lazy ass, I want Bones to start trying to catalog as many Foreigners as he can in case of any medical emergencies. I'll actually make some kind of questionnaire the player can fill out for their character if they ICly want the information divulged.

Uhh what else? More information on local flora. Obviously the Kedan use a lot of herbs for medicinal purposes, so McCoy would like to see if they could actually try and synthesize that shit a lil more into more potent shiiit.

Thanks for including Costigan from before!

He'll be a bit antisocial about all of it, interested in being informed but not really participating or being social. If pushed, he'd be willing to help coach people on fighting (and will train a lot in general).

Tazendra should probably be on the defense team; I suspect the reason she's on medical is more because she thinks she knows how the turtle replicates magical abilities than any actual ability to tend wounds or illness.
