PLAYER

NAME: Froda
CONTACT: PM this journal, or frodabaggins - generally I only want to add folks on plurk that I'm actively threading with.
ACTIVE TIMES/PACE: CST timezone; most active evenings and weekends.
BRACKETS/PROSE: I can do either.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: I'm not interested in playing out graphic rape or torture.

IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Sure, though she'll be awkward at best unless she knows you really well.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Fighting is what she does.
RELATIONSHIPS: I'm a pretty hardcore Shakarian truther, though I'm not opposed to other things with enough development. Generally I'd like to talk it out and do some threads first. I will always assume unromanced with canonmates unless we are threading in a shipping meme or have discussed it beforehand. I enjoy writing smut but am happy to fade to black if that is your preference.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Has some Prothean nonsense in her head. Specifically, Prothean genetic memory referred to as the "Cipher" which allows her to understand some Prothean language and tech, but not much else. Also, a shit-ton of PTSD.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: Shep wouldn't call it magic, but she does have biotic abilities. It's space magic. Basically telekinesis.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: She's human but with a fair amount of cybernetics inside her body, from that time she died and got rebuilt by a terrorist organization. Long story.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Slavery, child abduction/murder, etc.

OUT OF CHARACTER

BACKTAGGING: Absolutely, as long as we need to.
THREADHOPPING: Generally only in texting memes/shitposts.
FOURTHWALLING: No thanks.
NOT INTERESTED IN: See above, wrt explicit rape/torture. I'm happy to thread out the repercussions of things like that, but not the things themselves.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: She's a pretty normal-looking human at first glance, about 5'7", red hair, green eyes, pale skin. Attractive by human standards but not wildly stunning.
AURAL: Sounds like Jen Hale. American accent.
OLFACTORY: Usually smells like soap, sweat, and ozone (from the biotics).
DEMEANOUR: Carries herself like a soldier, wide stance, is not dainty.

World state/choices: Background: Colonist
Psychological profile: War hero
Reputation: Paragon
Did basically all the paragon stuff, including saving the Rachni Queen, saving the Council, did not give the Reaper tech to the Illusive Man, etc. Paragon'd the shit out of all the companions. Ashley Williams died on Virmire. Wrex survived.

plot/cr with me!

Fri, 10 Jan 2014 09:02:11 GMT

This is the place to contact me if you've got plot/CR ideas involving your character(s) and Shepard!

Below is some information about Shepard on the turtle, for CR and plot hooks:

- Shepard is, first and foremost, a career soldier. That is her primary mindset, her way of viewing the universe, and she filters everything through a very particular set of standards related to that.
- On the turtle, one of her pet projects is a couple of committees she's put together to liase with both foreign and kedan businesses and politicians, to keep everyone on the turtle prepared for emergencies and fights. See this post for more information about them and for sign-up forms.
- Shepard has what are called biotic abilities. These are sort of like telekinesis. She also has a lot of cybernetic implants, and she is very willing to make herself a guinea pig for scientifically- or medically-inclined types who might want to study her.
- She has pretty regular habits, including a strict work-out routine. She could always use more sparring partners for hand-to-hand training!
- She is always willing to help people in need, in any way she can. If there's a dangerous mission that needs doing, she will do it. She's also a natural leader and falls easily into that role, so organizational things can conceivably fall to her if necessary.

tushanshu: defense and medical teams

Thu, 03 Oct 2013 02:32:27 GMT

Shepard is putting together/running volunteer defense and medical teams. Primarily what she envisions these teams doing is getting emergency preparedness plans into place for the entire turtle on both a defensive and medical front, and also potentially liasing with official kedan authorities on defense and medical issues related to the foreign population at large.

The medical team will ideally help collect/disseminate relevant medical information on inhabitants of the turtles to all those who operate clinics locally, as well as help organize and triage patients as necessary in times of emergency.

The defense team will hopefully help coordinate baseline self-defense lessons for all who may want it - working with those who are or have been offering such lessons to make sure base lines are established that everyone is capable of doing (regardless of powers, age, size, skill level, species, etc), as well as disseminate information about what to do in case of emergencies like another zombie attack.

Each team will meet once a month (more if people think it's necessary) - to plan, organize committees and whatnot. These can easily be handwaved, though I'm happy to do meeting logs for CR purposes, and if folks have ideas for plans that could be implemented or ways to ICly get some of the information she's seeking, feel free to contact me!

If your character would be interested in joining one (or both!) of these teams, please comment here with your character's name and which team they would want to join - also, if you want, feel free to leave a blurb with any ideas or contributions they may have to some of the above ideas! And feel free to use this to handwave meetings and get CR started with your characters. If you're not sure how your character would find out about these teams, never fear! Shepard has been publicly advertising them, both on the network and via things like... fliers. So it would be super easy to hear about them via word of mouth, or you can always shoot me a PM or comment to Shepard's IC inbox if you need other ideas!

part i.
Character name: Commander Jane Shepard
Fandom: Mass Effect/2/3
Species (vampire, werewolf, what have you): Human, with cybernetic enhancements.
Character powers: I think here some wiki articles will be most informative. Shepard's class is Adept, which means she is a biotic - kind of like telekinesis, mostly used to throw people around with her brain. The adept article lists out the specific talents an adept Shepard has - I'll be going with the basic ones from ME2/3, which are warp - does some damage and staggers a single target; pull - does what it says on the tin, pulls the target up into the air and sets them drifting; throw - does what it says on the tin; shockwave - a series of energy bursts that can send multiple opponents in a straight line flying; singularity - which can pull two or three opponents toward its center, leaving them defenseless for a short period of time.
