Lovingly borrowed from [community profile] lastvoyages; modified slightly for my own uses.

OOC PREFERENCES:
CONTACT METHOD: PM this journal, or my plurk ([plurk.com profile] frodabaggins)
THREAD-JACKING: I love thread jacking.
FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: If your character would be familiar with Mass Effect, let me know. In terms of potential canon-mates, she is from before the third game (I may or may not canon update her in the future) and I'd rather not have castmates potentially spoil her for future stuff. I'm totally okay with having canonmates from different "versions" of the universe as well i.e. a squadmate from a playthrough with a male Shepard, or a more renegade Shepard, or a different class or a Shepard who romanced Kaidan or whatever.
BACKTAGGING: I'll backtag practically forever.
AVOIDED TOPICS: I don't do plots that involve rape or sexual assault. Otherwise, I'm good with just about anything.

IC CHARACTERISTICS:
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: 5'7", red hair and bright green eyes, Shepard looks like a pretty normal human woman at first glance, though she moves with the confidence and posture of a longtime soldier and talks like it, too. She'll usually smell of whatever plain soap she uses and sometimes sweat, if she's been working out. Also, the biotics she uses might make her smell a little weird, at times. She dresses completely functionally, and on the turtle will probably acquire clothes more like what she's used to wearing as opposed to the local styles. She's got a lot of scarring on her body, though by now most of the scars on her face have healed so people aren't too likely to see them.
DEMEANOR: She's straightforward and generally has an air of authority about her. Shepard is used to giving orders and having them followed.
ABILITIES: + BIOTICS: Shepard has some biotic abilities - this is basically space telekinesis. She can throw people around with her mind, and she also has a biotic charge that allows her to cross distance very, very quickly - basically it allows her to close on an opponent in the blink of an eye, so she can shotgun them to death.
+ CYBERNETICS: Shepard has a ton of cybernetic implants, courtesy of Cerberus and the Lazarus project. What this means generally is that she is no longer a baseline human - she's a little bit stronger, a little bit tougher and more resilient than a baseline human. She probably wouldn't win in a fight against Superman, or Captain America, but she could probably beat the crap out of Tony Stark without the Iron Man suit.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Along with the cybernetics, Shepard requires higher dosages of drugs to feel the full effects. For instance, if she were going to be put under for a surgical procedure, the dosage on the anesthetic would have to be much higher than it normally would for a baseline human of her size in order to work the same. She also can't be sedated, poisoned or get drunk as easily as a baseline human. She still can, it just takes a lot more than you would think just from looking at her.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Racism. She comes from a world where there are a lot of different alien species and there are definitely racists back home. Usually when she encounters them, they tend to get a punch in the face. You've been warned.

IC PERMISSIONS:
MENTAL: Shepard is canonically highly resistant to most forms of mental manipulation. The Reapers (the big baddies of the ME universe) use a form of brainwashing called indoctrination as a tactic in their quest to destroy advanced organic life. Shepard has repeatedly resisted the effects of indoctrination. So she'd probably be pretty resistant to other forms of mental invasion as well.
MIMICRY: That should be okay - let me know if you want to do something like that and we'll talk it out.
VIOLENCE: I'm fine with this! Shepard is a pretty darn good fighter, and of course we'll have to talk potential injuries if this happens.
MAGIC: I'd say she's probably susceptible to most forms of magic. If it's a potion, though, see above for her increased resistances.
DEBATE: Sure.
HUGGING/KISSING/PHYSICAL AFFECTION: She's not the greatest with this, but if your character wants to, sure!
SHIPS: Shepard kind of has a thing for someone back home, so this is pretty unlikely to happen.
OTHER / NOTES: Nada.
